Overview
The Ecoglide Canopy Tour is our most direct zipline option for travelers who want real height without a full-day plan.
You will ride forest cables, cross a hanging bridge, and choose the big drop at the Tarzan Swing.
It is fast, organized, and easy to fit before hot springs or an afternoon drive.
What you’ll experience
We begin with pickup in the La Fortuna area, or you can meet us at the park. The entrance is 3.5 km west of the Catholic church in La Fortuna. Once you arrive, your guides fit your harness, helmet, pulley, and gloves.
Before the longer lines, we go through the safety briefing. This canopy uses two cables: one for sliding and one independent safety cable. That setup helps first-timers relax before the course begins.
The Ecoglide Canopy Tour is divided into two sections. First, you ride 6 cables and move through 7 platform stops. Some platforms sit in the trees, so the pace feels close to the forest instead of rushed.
Those first cables reach up to 210 meters long. The average height is around 25 meters, which feels high enough without becoming extreme too early.
Then comes the section most people talk about afterward. The Tarzan Swing reaches almost 40 meters, and it starts from a platform above a forest clearing. You step off, drop, and swing several times before slowing down.
After the swing, the second section continues with 5 more cables. These lines range from 100 to 430 meters, so the tour finishes with longer rides.
In total, the course includes 11 cables and a suspension bridge. The full Ecoglide Canopy Tour usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on group size and weather.
Bring closed-toe shoes, light clothing, insect repellent, and rain gear in green season. We still run in normal rain. We do not run the course during thunderstorms or very strong wind.
Our local recommendation
Choose the Ecoglide Canopy Tour with Tarzan Swing if this is your main adventure activity in La Fortuna.
The regular canopy is fun, but the swing changes the whole energy of the tour. It is the part families keep talking about later, even when someone decides not to jump.
For nervous travelers, we recommend the morning departure. The air is usually cooler, and you still have the afternoon open for hot springs, lunch, or a lighter nature walk.
Is this for you?
This tour is a good fit if you want a short adventure near La Fortuna with a clear safety system and active guides.
It also works well for families. The listed minimum age is 3 years, as long as the equipment fits correctly. Younger children may ride with a guide instead of going alone.
Skip this tour if you want a quiet nature walk or if heights make you freeze. The cables are manageable, but the Tarzan Swing is a real jump.
This activity is not recommended during pregnancy, back problems, or serious medical conditions. We also need the harness to fit properly for each guest.
