No, printing a receipt is not necessary. Your reservation will be on the tour operator’s list, and you can simply show your confirmation email or booking details on your phone. If you’d like, we can also reconfirm your booking with the operator before your tour.

The cost of a private tour depends on several factors, including the type of activity, duration, group size, and whether transportation, meals, or entrance fees are included.

Choosing the best tour depends on your interests, activity level, and the type of experience you’re looking for. Here are a few things to consider:

Adventure or Relaxation? – If you love adrenaline, activities like zip-lining, white-water rafting, or canyoning are great choices. For a more relaxed experience, consider hot springs, wildlife tours, or scenic hikes.

Wildlife & Nature Lovers – Guided hikes in Arenal Volcano National Park, Mistico Hanging Bridges, or a night walk in the rainforest offer great opportunities to spot local wildlife.

Water Activities – If you enjoy being in the water, options like La Fortuna Waterfall, tubing, or a boat safari on the Peñas Blancas River are ideal.

Cultural & Local Experiences – Consider a coffee and chocolate tour or visiting a local farm to learn about Costa Rican traditions.

Renting a car in Arenal depends on your travel style and plans:

Recommended if you want flexibility – A rental car allows you to explore at your own pace, visit off-the-beaten-path locations, and avoid waiting for shuttles or taxis.

Not necessary if you plan to do guided tours – Most tours include transportation, so if you’re mainly doing excursions, you might not need a car.

Road conditions – Main roads in La Fortuna and Arenal are in good condition, but some attractions (like Río Celeste or some adventure parks) may require a 4×4.

Alternative options – Taxis, shared shuttles, and private drivers are available if you prefer not to drive.

If you’re staying in town and only visiting a few key attractions, you may not need a car. But if you want full freedom to explore, renting a car is a great option! 🚗💨

Both USD and Costa Rican colones (CRC) are widely accepted in Costa Rica, so you don’t necessarily need to exchange money before arriving. Here’s what I recommend:

💵 USD is widely used – Most hotels, tours, and restaurants accept USD, but you may receive change in colones. Bring small denominations ($1, $5, $10, and $20 bills) as larger bills can sometimes be harder to break.

💳 Card payments are common – Many places accept credit/debit cards (Visa & Mastercard are most widely accepted), but it’s good to have some cash for small purchases.

💰 Colones are useful for small expenses – Local shops, street vendors, or rural areas may only accept colones. ATMs in Costa Rica let you withdraw either colones or USD, so you can always get some cash once you arrive.

🔄 Exchange rate tip – If you pay in USD, some places may round up when giving change in colones, so it’s good to check the exchange rate (currently around ₡500 CRC per $1 USD).
