Outback Adventures ATV is not the shortest ATV ride in La Fortuna.
First, you get time to settle into the quad.
Then, the route moves through rainforest trails, riverside paths, countryside, and volcano-view areas.
This is a longer ATV tour with more stops, more context, and less rush.

What you'll experience

We start with pickup in La Fortuna Zone 1 or meet at our Outback Adventure ATV base. Some hotels outside the main zone may have an extra transportation charge.

Once you arrive, your guides help you check in and fit your helmet and safety gear. After that, we give a clear safety briefing and driving instructions.

Before the main ride begins, every driver completes a test drive. This matters because the route includes dirt, riverside trails, countryside roads, and uneven ground.

Drivers need a valid license and must be 16 years or older. Children can join as passengers from 5 years old, as long as they ride with an adult.

Then we head out toward the Arenal Volcano area. The route is designed for a slower, more exploratory pace than a pure mud-and-speed ATV tour.

During the ride, you move through extended rainforest trails, open countryside, and fields near the volcano’s slopes. When the weather is clear, the volcano views are a strong part of the route.

After the first riding sections, we enter a local ecological park with scenic viewpoints. This stop gives the tour a different feel from shorter ATV loops near town.

There is also an optional river swim during the experience. The swim depends on weather and river conditions, so safety always comes first.

Later, the route includes a respectful visit to Villa Maleku. This is a short cultural stop where guests learn about local traditions. It should be seen as an introduction, not a full Indigenous community immersion.

Once the ride is finished, we return to the base. Drinking water and fresh fruit are included after the tour.

The Discovery Adventure lasts about 3 hours. Regular departures run at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.

Choose Outback Adventures ATV if you want a longer ATV route with nature, culture, and scenery built into the ride. This is not the best option if you only want mud and speed.

It works especially well for first-time drivers who want a guided pace. The test drive, small-group format, and steady route help nervous riders settle in.

For the best experience, wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes that can get dirty. Also, bring your driver’s license, sunscreen, sunglasses, towel, and a change of clothes.

Light rain usually makes the route more fun. However, heavy rain can affect the river stop, visibility, and trail conditions.
