About Us
From Hosting Guests to Helping Them Experience Arenal
Tours in Arenal Started With a Simple Idea
When you host travelers in Arenal, the same questions come up again and again.
Which activities are really worth doing?
Which experience is best for our family?
Should we visit the volcano or the hanging bridges?
Where should we eat?
How much can we realistically fit into one day?
Do we need transportation?
As hosts at Butterfly Rentals, helping our guests answer those questions naturally became part of what we do.
Over time, we realized our guests didn’t need another long list of everything available in La Fortuna.
They needed a few good recommendations from someone who understood their stay.
That is why we created Tours in Arenal.
How Tours in Arenal Works
We don’t operate every experience you find on Tours in Arenal.
We work with independent local guides, tour operators, transportation providers and businesses that deliver the actual services.
Our role is different.
We help identify experiences we feel comfortable recommending, explain the differences between options and help you choose what makes sense for your stay.
When a reservation or transportation service is needed, we can also help coordinate the details with the appropriate local provider.
This allows us to focus on something that matters to us:
helping you choose well, rather than simply showing you more options.
What Makes a Recommendation Worth Sharing?
A popular activity isn’t automatically the right activity for every traveler.
When we recommend something, we think about factors such as:
- Who’s traveling: ages, fitness and what everyone enjoys
- Time and distance: what actually fits in your day
- Quality: the guide, the operator and the experience itself
- Value: what you get for what you pay
- Fit with your stay: pace, location and the rest of your plans
That is also why you may see us explain when we would recommend an experience—and when we would consider another option instead.
Good local advice should help you make a decision, not pressure you into one.
Meet Andrés, Your Local Contact
Hi, I’m Andrés.
A big part of my role is helping guests make sense of all the options available around Arenal.
You don’t necessarily need to do more.
You need to choose what fits you.
If you’re unsure between two experiences, wondering how much you can fit into a day or simply want a local opinion, send me a message.
I’ll help you narrow it down.
