Overview
Cross forest canyons with waterfall views on the La Fortuna Waterfall Zipline Tour at Arenal Mundo Aventura. Choose the seven-cable AMA Extreme route or the twelve-cable Big AMA version, depending on how much ziplining you want in your day.
The landscape is a central reason to consider this experience. Elevated crossings place you above the forest, with views toward waterfalls and the surrounding mountains. Visibility changes with weather, so the scenery is part of the setting rather than a guaranteed clear view of Arenal Volcano.
The two versions deserve separate consideration. AMA Extreme offers seven cables in approximately two hours. Big AMA extends the experience to twelve cables and approximately three hours, adding more crossings rather than a different activity category. Both include a wagon ride and a visit to the park's Maleku cultural area.
Big AMA also involves a forest walk to reach the first platform. That matters when planning the visit: the ride up does not remove the need to walk, and time on the course includes movement between departures. Travelers interested in the longer option should consider their energy after other hikes around Arenal.
At Tours in Arenal, we recommend the La Fortuna Waterfall Zipline Tour for visitors who want elevated forest crossings with waterfall scenery. The shorter version suits those who prefer fewer cables, while Big AMA makes sense when the additional ziplining is a priority. More cables do not automatically make it the better choice for every traveler.
This is an adventure with height, equipment requirements and published participation limits. It should not be confused with a swimming visit to the base of La Fortuna Waterfall. The cultural stop adds another element, but the main focus remains ziplining. Choosing between the two routes starts with your interest in the course and comfort with its demands.
