Overview
Zip through the forest near Arenal Volcano on an easy-to-fit adventure with 11 cables, a suspension bridge, and an optional dose of extra adrenaline on the Tarzan Swing.
The canopy tour at Ecoglide Arenal Park is a roughly two-hour zip-lining experience just outside La Fortuna. The route combines 11 cables, 13 platforms, a suspension bridge, and a Tarzan Swing, with much of the course set among the trees.
A Canopy Tour That Fits Easily Into Your Day
The course is divided into two sections, so the experience builds gradually rather than feeling like one continuous sequence of cables.
The first section includes six cables and seven platforms, with cables reaching up to about 210 meters. The second includes five cables and six platforms, with some of the longer runs extending to roughly 430 meters.
Along the way, you also cross a suspension bridge and reach the Tarzan Swing, which adds a short free-swinging drop from a platform for travelers who want a little more adrenaline. The operator describes the swing as reaching close to 40 meters in height.
Because the full experience takes about two hours, it can work well on a day when you also want time for hot springs, the waterfall, a volcano hike, or another activity in La Fortuna.
Why We Recommend It
Ecoglide is a practical choice for travelers who want to add zip-lining to their Arenal trip without committing most of the day to one activity.
The location is only about 3.5 km west of downtown La Fortuna, and the operator currently offers several departures throughout the day. That flexibility makes it easier to combine with other plans rather than reorganizing your entire itinerary around the canopy tour.
It can also be a good option for mixed groups. According to Ecoglide, the minimum age is 3 years, although younger children who participate may need to ride with a guide rather than with a parent or companion.
