Your day begins on a scenic Costa Rican farm where professional guides greet you with a warm welcome. After a clear safety briefing, you gear up with harness, helmet, and gloves. A short jungle walk leads you into a pristine canyon hidden in dense rainforest.
You start by practicing your first rappel to build confidence before facing the larger descents. Soon after, you take on four waterfall rappels, ranging from 49 to 131 feet. During each descent, you feel pure adrenaline as you move down volcanic rock walls and splash into natural pools. The rainforest surrounds you with vivid greenery, fresh water, and wild beauty. This section captures the raw, untouched side of Costa Rica.
Class II–III White-Water Rafting on the Balsa River
After canyoning, you continue to the Balsa River for the second half of your journey. The first section delivers about 45 minutes of continuous Class II–III rapids, offering steady excitement for beginners and adventure lovers. As the river widens, the pace slows, giving you time to spot sloths, toucans, iguanas, and kingfishers along the shore.
Your guides prepare a fresh riverside fruit snack, a refreshing break before finishing the rafting route. The activity combines fun splashes with calm floating sections where you can swim and enjoy the scenery.

- Sales Tax: A 13% sales tax will be added upon booking.
- Tour Availability: All tours are subject to availability.
- Minimum Booking Requirement: A minimum of two (2) people per booking is required. If you are a solo traveler, please contact us directly by email or WhatsApp for availability.
- Children: Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Transportation: Transportation from most hotels or vacation rentals is included in the price. However, if your hotel or vacation rental is located far from downtown La Fortuna or the route to Arenal Volcano, extra pick-up fees may be charged. Please confirm this during booking.
- Departure Times: Departure times are approximate. The precise pick-up time will be provided on your travel voucher.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation Requests: If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, kindly send an email to info@toursinarenal.com at least 24 hours prior to your service. You will receive a full refund, except for the 5% credit card fees.
- Holiday Cancellation Requests: For cancellations during the busy holiday peak season (December 20th to January 4th), please send a written email to info@toursinarenal.com at least 72 hours before your scheduled service. You will receive a full refund, minus a 5% credit card fee.
- Company Cancellations: We reserve the right to cancel a trip due to unfavorable conditions. A full refund will be given if, on rare occasions, no tour is run.
- No-Show Policy: The customer must be at the agreed-upon time and place. The guide will wait a maximum of 5 minutes. In the case of a no-show, the reservation will be charged 100%.
- Unused Portions: Once travel begins, unused portions of the service will not be eligible for refunds.
Payments
- Currency: Payments will be processed in US dollars.
- Payment Process: Your credit card will be charged using a secure payment link once the service is confirmed.
- Booking Confirmation: Prices, transportation, attractions, services, and travel dates are not confirmed until we receive the required payment.
