Welcome to Tours in Arenal Company! These Terms and Conditions outline the policies governing the use of our services, bookings, and participation in tours. By making a reservation or using our services, you agree to these terms.


GENERAL RESERVATION INFORMATION

  1. Languages: Experiences are available in English and Spanish.
  2. Booking Minimum: A minimum of two (2) participants per booking is required.
  3. Children: Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  4. Tour Operators: Sightseeing tours are independently managed by local tour operators. Some tours include hotel pickups, while others may require meeting at a specified location.
  5. Accessibility: Certain activities may not be suitable for visitors with limited mobility. Please verify requirements prior to booking.
  6. Dietary Requests: To accommodate special dietary needs, please request options at least 24 hours before your scheduled activity.
  7. Personal Responsibility:
    • The company is not responsible for cancellations, interruptions, or changes to itineraries due to personal reasons after activities begin.
    • Claims or refunds will not be processed under such circumstances.
  8. Force Majeure: The operator reserves the right to cancel tours due to force majeure events or circumstances beyond the company’s control, including but not limited to natural disasters (earthquakes, floods) or unforeseen incidents that disrupt activities.

RATES

  1. Currency: All prices are listed in US dollars (USD) per person and are subject to change without prior notice.
  2. Validity: Rates are valid from 1st December 2024 to 1st December 2025.
  3. Taxes:
    • Per Costa Rican regulations and Law 9635 (effective July 1, 2019), a 13% VAT will be added to all services, including transportation, tours, and spa services.

PAYMENTS

  1. Payment Process: Your credit card will be charged once all services are confirmed. All payments are processed in US dollars on agreed-upon dates.
  2. Activity Availability:
    • In rare cases, certain activities displayed online may not be available.
    • Your card will not be charged until you approve an alternative activity.
  3. Confirmation: Prices, transportation, attractions, services, and travel dates are only confirmed once the required payment is received.

TRAVEL VOUCHERS

  1. Confirmation Emails: Electronic confirmations and travel vouchers will be sent to the email address provided during booking.
  2. Details Included: Travel vouchers will include pick-up times and locations for scheduled activities.
  3. Email Use: Please ensure the use of one consistent email address during the booking process.

CANCELLATIONS

  1. Cancellation Fees: The company follows the cancellation policies of its suppliers. Cancellation penalties increase as the departure date approaches.
  2. Last-Minute Cancellations:
    • Cancelling within 24 hours of a tour may result in non-refundable charges.
    • Holiday peak season (December 20 – January 4): Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance for a refund, minus a 5% credit card processing fee.
  3. Refunds and Adjustments:
    • In case of uncontrollable events, the company may provide alternative tours or options to ensure a satisfactory experience.
    • A full refund will be issued for canceled tours that are not rescheduled, except for the 5% credit card fee.
  4. No Refunds:
    • No-shows or unused portions of a trip will not be refunded.
    • Partial refunds will not be provided for late arrivals, missed tours, or interrupted itineraries.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  1. Standard Policy:
    • No penalty for cancellations made at least 24 hours before the activity date.
    • Cancellations within 24 hours of the activity will incur full charges.
  2. Holiday Policy:
    • Cancellations during peak season must be submitted at least 72 hours in advance for a full refund, minus a 5% credit card fee.
  3. Written Notice Required:
    • Cancellations must be requested in writing via email to info@toursinarenal.com.
    • A confirmation of cancellation must be received from the company for it to take effect.

DOCUMENTATION

  1. Required Documentation:
    • Costa Rican residents must present a valid DNI.
    • Foreign visitors must carry a valid passport.
  2. Responsibility: The company is not responsible for missing or invalid documentation, including potential damages or losses arising from these situations.

LIMITATIONS TO THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE

  1. The company reserves the right to retain or remove any participant from an activity if their behavior, health, or conduct endangers the group or disrupts the experience.
