Your day begins with a hotel pick-up from most major accommodations around Arenal and La Fortuna. From there, you’ll be transferred to a lush adventure park nestled at the foot of the Arenal Volcano. After a brief safety briefing, you’ll gear up for the zipline portion of the tour.
First, you’ll climb a 54-foot tower to launch into your canopy course. Glide across a 360-foot-deep canyon that opens up to sweeping jungle views. Then cross a hanging bridge and take on the longest zipline in the park: a 0.6-mile (about 980 meters) flight soaring directly over the La Fortuna Waterfall, reaching speeds up to 43 mph (70 km/h). This is the heart of the La Fortuna Waterfall ziplining & rafting combo — a moment where nature and thrill converge.
Rafting the Exciting Balsa River
Once you touch down, it’s time to shift gears: head to the Balsa River for your white-water rafting leg. With certified bilingual guides, you’ll paddle through Class II–III rapids, perfect for both beginners and those with some rafting experience. The river stretch is about 11 km, and you’ll spend 1.5 to 2 hours navigating the rapids, depending on water levels. Keep your eyes open: the riverbanks are alive with wildlife — monkeys, toucans, iguanas, and more.
Midway through the rafting, you’ll pause for a jungle rest break where you can enjoy fresh tropical fruit and ice-cold drinks. After the river run, the group will head to a charming countryside restaurant where you’ll enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch, made with local, fresh ingredients. This farm-style lunch gives you time to relax, laugh with your group, and relive your best moments.
Finally, you'll return to your hotel in La Fortuna, fully satisfied, with transportation included. The total duration of the tour is about 8 hours.

- Tour Availability: All tours are subject to availability.
- Minimum Booking Requirement: A minimum of two (2) people per booking is required. If you are a solo traveler, please contact us directly by email or WhatsApp for availability.
- Children: Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Transportation: Transportation from most hotels or vacation rentals is included in the price. However, if your hotel or vacation rental is located far from downtown La Fortuna or the route to Arenal Volcano, extra pick-up fees may be charged. Please confirm this during booking.
- Departure Times: Departure times are approximate. The precise pick-up time will be provided on your travel voucher.
Cancellation Policy
- Standard Cancellations: If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, please send an email to info@toursinarenal.com at least 24 hours prior to your service. You will receive a full refund, except for the 5% credit card fee.
- Holiday Cancellations: For cancellations during the holiday peak season (December 20th - January 4th), please send a written email to info@toursinarenal.com at least 72 hours before your scheduled service. A full refund will be issued, minus the 5% credit card fee.
- Company Cancellations: We reserve the right to cancel a trip due to unfavorable conditions and will only operate tours according to our policies. A full refund will be provided if, on rare occasions, a tour does not run.
- No-Show Policy: Guests must arrive at the agreed-upon time and location. The guide will wait a maximum of 5 minutes. If the guest does not show up, the reservation will be charged 100%.
- Unused Services: Once travel has begun, unused portions of the service will not be eligible for refunds.
Payments
- Currency: Payments will be processed in US dollars.
- Payment Process: Your credit card will be charged using a secure payment link once the service is confirmed.
- Booking Confirmation: Prices, transportation, attractions, services, and travel dates are not confirmed until we receive the required payment.
