Overview
The Balsa River White Water Rafting Class II–III experience begins with a comfortable pickup arranged by Arenal Rafting.
From the first interaction, the team sets a professional and welcoming tone. Upon arrival at their private operations center, everything feels organized and efficient. You will find modern equipment, high-flotation life jackets, and certified safety gear ready for your adventure.
Professional Operation and River Expertise
Before entering the water, guides conduct a detailed safety briefing. Instructions are clear, practical, and easy to follow. Safety is treated as a priority, not a formality.
Each trip includes internationally certified guides and a safety kayaker accompanying the group. Their experience on the Balsa River ensures confident navigation through every section.
The Balsa River White Water Rafting Class II–III with Arenal Rafting offers the perfect balance of excitement and control. Rapids deliver splashes and teamwork moments, while calmer sections allow you to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Rapids, Wildlife, and a True Costa Rican Experience
Once on the river, the energy builds quickly. Class II and III rapids create dynamic waves without overwhelming first-time rafters. Paddling commands keep everyone engaged and coordinated.
Between rapids, the scenery shifts your focus. Expect lush rainforest, towering trees, and abundant wildlife along the riverbanks. It is common to spot three-toed sloths, howler monkeys, and tropical birds during quieter stretches.
Midway through the journey, guides stop along the riverbank for a refreshing break. Enjoy fresh pineapple and watermelon, served directly in nature. This pause allows time for photos and a moment to absorb the atmosphere.
The experience continues downstream with more fun rapids before returning to base. Unlike mass tours, this operation offers private facilities, hot showers, towels, and changing areas.
After rafting, guests enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch at the Hunters & Gatherers restaurant. Local ingredients and authentic flavors complete the adventure.
