Overview
Super Quads ATV is built for riders who want more than a quick mud loop.
First, you practice on a modern 4x4 quad.
Then, you ride into private forest trails, rural roads, river sections, and volcano-view areas.
After the ride, the tour finishes with a natural hot spring pool.
What you'll experience
We start at our Super Quads base in La Fortuna. Once you arrive, your guides help you check in, fit your helmet, and get ready for the ride.
Before the route begins, we give a safety briefing and driving test. This first step helps every driver feel the ATV, understand the controls, and follow the guide’s signals.
Drivers must be 16 years or older and able to control the quad during the test. Passengers can join from 5 years old, as long as they ride with an adult.
After the practice section, we head into the private forest trails. The route covers about 17.7 km and lasts approximately 3 hours.
The ATVs are 2025 model 420cc 4x4 quads, which gives the ride a stronger feel than smaller beginner machines. You still follow a guided route, but the vehicle feels solid on uneven ground.
Then the terrain starts to change. You ride through forest paths, streams, gravel roads, and open sections with views toward Arenal Volcano when the weather allows.
Along the cultural route, we pass through La Guaria and El Alto de Monterrey. These rural areas give the tour a more local rhythm, away from the busiest streets of La Fortuna.
Once we reach the river section, you may have the chance to cool off in the Arenal River. This stop depends on weather and river conditions, so safety comes first.
After the riding section, we finish with time in an exclusive natural thermomineral hot spring pool. Hydration and seasonal fresh fruit are also included during the experience.
The regular schedule includes 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM departures. The price is $140 for a single ATV and $170 for a double ATV.
Our local recommendation
Choose Super Quads ATV if you want a longer ATV route with more variety. This tour combines forest, rural roads, streams, river time, and hot springs in one plan.
It is a good fit when you want adventure without feeling rushed. Three hours gives the route enough time to change scenery instead of repeating the same loop.
Wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and clothes that can get dirty. Also, bring a swimsuit and towel for the river or hot spring section.
Rain can make this tour more fun, but it can also change the route. When conditions are unsafe, we may adjust the path or reschedule the ride.
Is this for you?
This tour is a good fit for travelers who want a guided ATV ride with real trail time. It works well for couples, families with older kids, groups, and first-time drivers who can follow instructions.
It is not the best choice if you want a short, clean sightseeing drive. You should expect water, dust, mud, gravel, and uneven terrain.
Drivers need confidence and control. If a guest cannot manage the ATV during the test, they may need to ride as a passenger instead.
Super Quads ATV is not suitable for pregnant guests or anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The suggested maximum weight is 140 kg, and a $500 damage deposit is required before the tour.
